I love to travel, and I love to travel even more after having kids. Though sometimes traveling with kids is not an easy task as you have to consider so many things like their health, safety, security and many more. Yet going with tiny tinnies make my traveling horizon boarder and sometimes enjoy the destination with their perspective adds a new meaning to my life.
- Get them ready... After you decide the destination, let kids know so that they have a hint of the place. More they hear about it, the more they can imagine. My kids are in elementary school, my older one makes his list of what to see. When we decided to go to Washington DC last month, he wanted to visit Space and science museum. As he knew a few things earlier he was really excited to see them in real. You can also educate them about the little culture of the destination or what food they are going expect. That makes them excited about the destination.
- Make them Feel as part of the plan... Let them carry their own bags, it will not only make feel them responsible but also important. Choosing and packing clothes, hats sunglasses and taking care of their little things gives them immense please for their upcoming trip.
- Make them feel at home... I always pack my kid's favorite toys or stuffy, games, bedtime books that make them relax and feel at ease at a new place.
- A playtime... Even though my kids love traveling kids are kids, they often get bored in between. I always make sure to plan some time for their activities. Give a little time to play like going to the swimming pool at the hotel. Also, stopping by for a snack or ice cream social can instantly boost their mood.
- Comfort... I can't stretch enough, how essential it is to make them wear comfortable shoes. No matter what, most traveling requires walking, and comfortable shoes make it more fun along with packing the right clothes for the weather of the destination.
Great tips. We always bring my daughters favourite teddy. But I have a fear that one day he will go walkabout lmao.
ReplyDeleteAside from these, for us is pool. Pool is a must. If we are to stay in a hotel for more than a day, there must be a pool or beach where they could play.
ReplyDeleteMy mom was a travel agent for many years ... before people could book trips online ... and she always taught similar lessons. I'll never forget the lesson of "you pack your suitcase and you carry it" what an eye opener that was for a teen girl who thought she needed "everything".
ReplyDeleteTraveling is something I have been doing more of lately. I was a workaholic until I had to retire early due to failed back surgery. The one thing I do religiously when I travel is to make sure I have comfy shoes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these travel tips I will be using some of them.
ReplyDeleteAs a family we love to travel too. We have been to Italy this year and back to my homeland of Thailand too.
ReplyDeleteOur family loves to travel too and have recently visited the Baltic Sea countries.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! I've always loved traveling with my son. He would get a little bored when he was younger but doesn't as much any more. Including him in the planning always ramped up his anticipation so he was ready to go all the time without any argument.
ReplyDeleteI love to travel with my family also! It's such a unique experience to see the world through their eyes. And so funny too at the things that captivate them! Sometimes it's the totally normal everyday things! :)

ReplyDeleteI love this! Having my kiddos with me when I experience new places definitely makes it more interesting - half the fun is watching their overjoyed, awed reactions at a new location.
ReplyDeleteThose traveling tips are great! I think anytime you include kids in decision making, like what to pack and what toy to take, always makes the trip easier.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips. If I have children in the future these will definitely help.
ReplyDeleteThese are great tips! Ive got to try these with my toddler. She loves going to new places with us but the car ride is miserable. I think incorporatsting designated play stops would help tremendously.

ReplyDeleteAwesome tips to keep in mind when travelling with children. They are adorable and fun, but going on a longer journey can definitely tire and irritate them, so it's always important to remember how to make it the least stressful for the kids.

My kids always make me take their blankets...big bulky items but much loved! Your suggestion for good shoes is spot on. It seems like toddlers are the first to tire out when doing a lot of walking.
ReplyDeleteIt is great you take your children to see the world. I will pass these along to my niece.
