       New England has been wonderful these days, weather-wise. I love how the sultry summer beautifully transitions into fall, with its vibrant leaves, rich flavors, cozy boots, and layers. Lots on my mind, as India celebrates a glorious festive season thousands of miles away, and I feel the festive vibes here.  Buying balloons with my  Dad , the jingling of colorful bangles in the stores, and how our small town decked up are now distant memories.   Celebrating festivities in India has its own charm, whether it's the food, the hustle and bustle, or the natural transitions. Nevertheless, I love to dress up for Indian festivities. As you may know, I have a fondness for old and classic pieces.  Indian festive seasons just perk up my days, and so do those who celebrate. The best thing about this year's Indian festive season is that my kids will get Diwali Holiday. I'm thrilled that my kids can join me in decorating and preparing for our Diwali celebrations.  Even though I love to wear bright colors, white and silver are my all-time favorites. Nothing beats the beauty of white. This pair of Mekhela Chadar is white with silver motifs all over. Silver always brings a more modern and contemporary vibe, whereas gold is always classic and traditional. I jazzed up this mekhela chadar with some statement silver jewelry. My makeup idea was a more earthy tone and statement lips. Hope you like this look. 

 How are you doing? This is Diwali weekend, as Diwali falls on a weekday, many people celebrate on the weekend. In India, every state celebrates it in many different ways. As Diwali is the festival of lights, I always celebrate it as a festival of positivity. It imbues me with a sense of soulful satisfaction, much like lighting Diwali diya's (earthen lamps or candles) in a house filled with light and visibility. Over the last two years, we have yearned for the world to return to normalcy, praying that darkness would end and light would fill our hearts and souls.  And here comes our low-key festival celebration just with my family. I prepared a few Indian sweets and made a festive lunch for my family, by the way, didn't count the calories but memories 😇. For the outfit , I chose a deep coffee-brown Chanderi saree with silver motifs and oink enamel work. I teamed the saree with a hot pink blouse, some pearls, pink lipstick, and dark brown eye makeup. Winter seems like really long this year. I am looking forward to spring. Looking forward to the more springy outfit. A few days back it was my birthday and wanted to wear something different and something springy too. And then I have this blue Thakai jamdani muslin saree, but the saree asks for more spring or summer weather. Spring is a little far and I wanted to feel like spring and then the idea of wearing a saree came to me. Blue is always my favorite and this saree has three colors - yellow gold, rose gold and silver creepers on the sides. I went easy on accessories with this silver earring from my  Spain  trip and the bracelet with delicate filigree Spanish silver work. My hair and makeup is basic and minimal. The saree is feathery soft and easy to wear. Someone like me can easily wear it, who is not really an expert in wearing saree.  This saree is casually worn at home and hope you like it.

      The countdown has just begun and you are half a week away from the most celebrated festival of lights, the Diwali in India and the world. Along with cherishing and celebrating time with family, Diwali reminds me of the beautiful months of October and November, the stores filled with colorful accessories which you don't spot any other time of the year, especially jingles of the colorful bangles. Let the accessories do the talking - Jazz up your look with some colorful accessories, be it a colorful mojris or a pair of good heels. Even such simple dressing that will surely elevate your overall look. Wear some colorful bangles and your ethnic or Indian look will surely take the front row. Color me up please - I can't think of festivity without some bright lips or smokey or well-played eye makeup. You can do one or both.       The last couple of days had been really warm here, almost felt like mid-July. Not that I don't like warm days in New England when we always complain about the long winter. Yesterday the temperature dropped to a little chili. Feeling of the Fall is always wonderful. I felt like as if I am in India, Assam my home state. Felt like waking up in the morning walking on the lawn barefoot, foggy and hued and with all the festive buzz around.
