Admire the enthralling architecture of Sunflower Castle - Nested in the intersection of Mount Vernon and River streets, Sunflower Castle is delightful and whimsical. It was built in 1840 and in 1860 became home to interior designer artist Frank Hill Smith. An instantly distinctive architectural character amidst the brick houses. In 1904, watercolor artist Gertrude Beals moved into Sunflower House. Her studio was on the 3rd floor of the home.
