Harkness Memorial State Park , Connecticut a lovely summer day

A beach has its own beauty, whether sandy or rocky, and the landscape of a wide-open green meadow has its own beauty as well, but when both come together under one roof, it creates magic.  Located in Waterford,  Connecticut,  that's how I'll probably describe Harkness Memorial Park...magical.    If you are someone who loves the beach or someone who loves to spend a day picnicking with family with a built-in charcoal grill, or someone who is looking for a venue for a wedding or special event or just any photoshoot or you are an avid fitness enthusiast who loves to workout in heart of nature, there is plenty of places for all that or plenty of space for kite flying or just roam around and gaze the shore and get a glimpse of new England's beautiful colonial houses along with the long island sound there you are. If that's not enough, add to it the gorgeous 230-acre mansion called "Eolia," with a painstakingly manicured lawn and a serene garden featuring vivid ...

Fabcurate an one stop fabric destination

When the two beautiful pieces of fabric arrived from Fabricurate, a plethora of emotions hit me. As much as I was awed by the design and texture of the fabric, it brought me a bit back home to India, which I had not visited for over a year, due to the pandemic.  What is Fabcurate ? Fabcurate is an e-commerce company born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It caters to a one-stop fabric destination with an array of fabrics.  If you want to choose a chic contemporary fabric for a special occasion, you can opt for organza, chiffon, georgette, jacquard, or stick to the age-old tradition with kalamkari, Ikkat, Ajrakh, or Indian block print in organic cotton linen upada, among many other options.  Fabric for day to dinner or dawn to dusk.  How Fabcurate work? You need to select a design from Fabcurate    . The best part is that you can curate your own design. Next, select the fabric of your choice. And, place your order. There is no minimum order required. They provi...

A few favorite do list in New Haven, Connecticut

I am a little down and sad about not being able to visit my family in India this summer, but I'm also staying home and exploring the old and new places my home state, Connecticut, has to offer. Every time, I am pleasantly surprised with awe and countless unique discoveries. Frankly speaking, I don't do much planning and take it in a very relaxed way. This weekend, my destination was New Haven. Full of charm, history, character, and exuberance, the home of Yale, you can enjoy New Heaven in numerous ways. Bustling and beautiful alleys, art galleries, museums, library, bookstores, unique shops, parks, and a plethora of delightful food, New Haven serves every unique visitor's claim.  Stroll around the architectural digest of Yale - If you love the Gothic architecture charm of the bygone era, this America's 3rd oldest and most prestigious University campus, an alma mater of many glitterati, is truly unique in every sense.    The dense greenery and acute, carefully curated,...

Wickham Park a treat for nature lover in Connecticut

Generally, in the daily grind or claustrophobic life, those who want to escape instantly without going on vacation often find sanity in their neighborhood park. And my answer to that in Connecticut is the Wickham park, tucked in greenery and rolling hills, in 250 acres consisting of 10 unique gardens, whether you want to go for the whole day or want to spend a few hours with a short walk, nothing better than this. Picnic tables to playgrounds to city view, private event areas to trails to the bird sanctuary to whatnot, all in one.  The best part of this beautiful  Connecticut Park  charms you throughout the year: spring with cherry blooms, daffodils, and tulips, summer with roses, fall with leaf-peeping, and winter with sledding.  As I mentioned, there are 10 gardens. Here you go: Arboterium The Cabin Garden and Amphitheater The English Garden The Irish Garden The Italian Garden The Lotus Garden The Sensory Garden The Scottish garden The Oriental Garden The Wetland G...
