NYFW S/S2023 Global Fashion collective and wearing a Mekhela Chadar

Attending NYFW is an enthralling experience. Global fashion collective in NYFW was my 1st Experience in NYFW F/W2022. Coming back and attending this year is even more special. In this event, I got to see different designers from across the globe under one roof. This time I witnessed 4 unique multi-facet designers from 4 different countries.

Lunalee (USA) - GFC 1st show unfolds with Lunalee, a Korean American who grew up in California and later moved to NYC. Chic and contemporary designs with a minimalist approach in dynamic shapes and silhouettes influence a unique blend of two continents Korea and America.

Dr. Maaya (Japan) - A trained Nuerosrgeon then studied Art and Design in Central St. Martin in London and already showcased her creation in Vancouver Fashion Week 2019. Rhapsody of colors and quirks and creativity is a fulcrum factor in her designs in GFC. Her designs are a blend of artsy and crafty, a happy fashion indeed.

Ay Lelum (Canada) - Awe-inspiring and inclusive fashion and spreading diversity, Ay Lelum is a second-generation Coast Salish Design House from Nanaimo, B.C., Canada. They are Sisters who design and produce clothing and fabric patterns featuring Traditional Coast Salish Art by their Father William Good and Brother W. Joel Good of the Snuneymuxw First Nation Hereditary Chief Family. Their garment design is mentored by their Mother, Sandra Moorhouse-Good, who had the very first Coast Salish clothing line called Ay Ay Mut in the 1990s. In GFC NYFW S/S2023 they showcased traditional artifacts and designs in mileage of bright colors in a variety of dress forms from gowns to skirts.

TheRealB (India) - Hospitality management Graduate, Bina Patel is the brain behind TheRealB's passion for fashion took her to the Esteem institute of Maragani Milan. Her designs in GFC in NYFW S/S2023 are burst of colors with delicate and delightful details full of romanticism and feminity.

What I wore - Unlike last year this year, I wore A Red color Mekhela chadar (An assamese traditional outfit) with pink bird motifs and a pink border. I teamed it up with a beige blazer and belt that gives a contemporary touch and also helps the outfit to stay tightly fit together for a longer time. I added it up with some Assamese silver jewelry.

Keeping it simple-random things about me

Hello my dear readers, how are you all doing? Summer vacation has just started here on the east coast. My kids are having a gala time. I can't tell you how time is flying. My time is all occupied by them. Taking to them, playing with them, take them to the library, reading stories and most importantly cooking their favorite food. Hence thought, I'll keep it simple and straightforward. It has been more than a year now, and I have shared so many things about my life, travel, fashion, etc. Today I'll share a few random thoughts about me. 1. My favorite color - Navy blue, peach and off-white. Not that I don't wear any other color, but those colors are readily available in my wardrobe. 2. Bartaco, West Hartford , Connecticut review

It was a usual February day, the chill felt like tucking in the furry comforter and stay cozy at home. But, the matter of the fact was that it was my birthday and my family wanted me to take out for dinner. I was reluctant and wanted to stay at home. My little one was after me and I couldn't say no.
