        There is a charming thing about summer when you visit flower fields, especially lavender. Hot summer days slowly give way to a subtle and calm breeze. When you see rows of lavender, it's a delightful feeling.  This week, we visited Summitwynd Lavender Farm in Massachusetts, approximately 1.5 hours from my state, Connecticut, and 30 miles from Boston,  Massachusetts .    There are 4,000 lavender plants and more than 20 varieties of lavender in a beautiful location, set against the backdrop of the lush greenery of Wachusett Mountain. The soft fragrance of lavender is a wonderful experience. You can visit the farm for a festival or at any time. With live music and exhibitions with unique vendors, you can collect art pieces, pottery to dream catchers, and several opportunities to photograph or stroll on a summer afternoon with your family or friends. With 20 20-dollar entrance fee per adult, Naumkeag in Berkshire is the former country estate of affluent New York City lawyers Joseph Hodges Choate and Caroline Dutcher Sterling Choate. Entering itself gives the whole property an opulent vibe amidst greenery and rolling hills. Even though we visited a bit past the peak of tulip and daffodil season, nothing detracted from the beauty and serenity of this property. With a beautiful garden, tastefully done landscaping, sculpture, and bubbles with a fountain, this is a one-of-a-kind feature of the garden.
