A cup of Assam Tea

  Attending one of the Big 4 fashion weeks (New York, London, Milan, Paris) is on every fashion blogger's or fashion aficionado's bucket list. Checking in to the prestigious NYFW in Global Fashion Collective's Fall/Winter 2022 was an experience of a lifetime. This year, the Global Fashion Collective in NYFW F/W 2022 featured three designers: Luis Corrales, Sanjukta Dutta, and Young-Eun Lee.  Here, I am excited to cover my birth state and India's renowned designer, Sanjukta Dutta.   Designer Sanjukta Dutta, the winner of the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award for Best Designer 2018, designs traditional Assamese outfits, including mekhela chadar treasures, and transports from the Brahmaputra to the Thames, the Ganges to the Hudson. Sanjukta's designs are a symphony of colors and a medley of motifs, ranging from traditional Assamese to tribal tales from around the world, a sheer visual delight.  I chose this Crisp and charismatic black mekhela chadar , woven with traditional Assamese motifs in silver, that melds with the modern royal blue and crimson for the 2nd day of the Assam Convention 2018.   I got this  mekhela chadar  a couple of years ago, but the best part about Sanjukta Dutta's  mekhela chadar  is that it remains trendy and classy even as the  days go by.
