Four favorite places for fall-peeping in Connecticut






 My home state Connecticut might be a tiny state but with lots of little wonders. Especially in this time of Covid19 as we are unable to do out of country or state trips or meet our close ones, we are taking advantage of staying at home. Exploring nearby places which we usually won't appreciate as much as we should. Fall in Connecticut is unique and idyllic embodied with flavor, color, and carnivals. Especially this year fall weather somedays are so warm that we are feeling like summer and we have extended time to enjoy the fall. My list is long but I have picked my top favorites here... 



  1. Farmington River trail: With beautiful vistas and views paved Farmington river trail is one of my favorite. If you want to hike, bike, or take a leisurely walk, the Farmington river trail has a unique beauty of its own when fall spells the magic of colors quint, and sublime. The rustic yet delicate color combination and perpetual river view with the signature of the Farmington trail probably is one of the most breathtaking trails I have ever visited.



  2. West Hartford reservoir: What, not this park offers in fall, for fall peepers emerald green sparkling lake views, stone bridges, water creeks, hill views to crisp golden coin-like color, and numerous treats with name tag in the trees also ideal with kids for learning.



    Sleeping giant Park: 1500 acre park tucked in the southern shore of Connecticut Hamden wilderness retreat with tall trees and rugged mountains, a unique experience in itself just a 1.6-mile moderate hike. The gorgeous and vivid views on the way will take you to the lookout 4-story tower with a sweeping and scenic view of the mountain and cliffs and the summit.


  4. Wadsworth falls state park: Hidden gem, what you expect is quintessential new England fall small cover bridge, waterfall with vivid color that can melt your heart right away. Either you are an adventurous hiker (3.7-mile hike) or park your car in the parking lot that is a stone throw from the waterfall, you find everything beautiful here with the serene sound of water in every step you take from the creeks. Visiting this park gives you a gen-like feeling along with the most amazing views of the foliage views in the forest.

    I love the fall colors! I wish the area I was in in Phoenix had more of the seasonal colors, I always love seeing the woods look like this. Thanks for sharing all these photos and places with us.

    wow, my wife would love this cause she LOVES the colors and feel of Fall! I am an outdoorsman but really love the summer. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't love sitting by the Wadsworth falls amid those colors. Truly beautiful!

    This was going to be the year we went to Massachusetts for thanksgiving. Since we live in Florida we don't have much fall scenery. My fiancé and sister always rave about seeing the leaves change in fall. Since they are both from up north (Mass and New Jersey). I want to see it with my own eyes. These pictures you took are stunning.

    I've never been to Connecticut. Always knew it has it's beauty but I never thought it was of this kind! The river and it's surrounding is amazing. Hopefully I'll visit someday.

Keeping it simple-random things about me

Hello my dear readers, how are you all doing? Summer vacation has just started here on the east coast. My kids are having a gala time. I can't tell you how time is flying. My time is all occupied by them. Taking to them, playing with them, take them to the library, reading stories and most importantly cooking their favorite food. Hence thought, I'll keep it simple and straightforward. It has been more than a year now, and I have shared so many things about my life, travel, fashion, etc. Today I'll share a few random thoughts about me. 1. My favorite color - Navy blue, peach and off-white. Not that I don't wear any other color, but those colors are readily available in my wardrobe. 2. My favorite outfit - In western I love to wear a crisp white top and blue jeans. I know very casual. In Indian, I love sarees. Mostly, I love handwoven and handwork ones. I love salwar kurta too. Bartaco, West Hartford , Connecticut review

It was a usual February day, the chill felt like tucking in the furry comforter and stay cozy at home. But, the matter of the fact was that it was my birthday  and my family wanted me to take out for dinner. I was reluctant and wanted to stay at home. My little one was after me and I couldn't say no. I had no clue where we were heading for dinner and then here we were at the Bartaco. Vivacious Bartaco instantly took away my winter sluggishness. With a gracious greeting, modern contemporary laid back sitting and a bit of hustle and bustle made me alive in the winter freezing February. The high ceiling, ivory walls, earthy light shades stroked a tropical vibe and the food spoke a lot about Mexico and Latin America. As a sober, I chose housemade pomegranate lemonade and hubby got grapefruit ginger juice.
